We fly from the comforts of Nepalese hospitality at Dwarika’s to Lukla airstrip from where we trek up the Khumbu Valley, stopping en route at Namche Bazaar and village of Mende; in the process getting acclimatized to the rarefied air of the high altitude. We proceed on our trek to reach the very old Thyangboche Monastery as most renowned mountaineers have done in the past and make our way to the base camp of Ama Dablam where we will get further opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude. Although there are no modern comforts beyond Pangboche ( 3985 m / 13,074 ft ), the food and services at the various tea houses on the four days it takes us to reach Kala Pathar ( 5545 m / 18,192 ft ) and base camp are excellent. We trek back via Namche and in the months of March and October can visit the vibrant. Saturday market. Our trip ends with time to relax and explore the cultural hub of Kathmandu.
