Ghorepani & Poonhill Trek

Rating:

The Ghore Pani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most popular and highly acclaimed treks. The spectacular mountain views and typically rural and ethnic settlements give justification to why it demands such popularity. Though it Hill Trek is a short trek, it is a popular route among trekkers. There are few or no other routes that encompasses so much diversity in culture and natural beauty. The trek initiates with rustic village life, its rich culture, view of terraces, cascading waterfalls and lush green forested hills.

Ghore Pani offers stunning views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Hiunchuli and the everpresent Machhapuchare ( Mt. Fishtail ). Poon Hill is the ultimate vantage point to see the sun rise and set on the snow-crested Himalayan peaks and cast an orange glow on them. Another prominent and interesting feature of this trek is the village of Ghandruk with its tribal Gurung community who have provided invaluable service to the British and Indian armies as the courageous Gorkha soldiers. Ghandruk also offers magnificent close-up views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchare and Himal Chuli. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek can be done year round, but in the winter there can be quite a lot of snow and ice on the trail.
